The former cohesive power of these communities – as a kind of samurai pride – resides here in me. Does art reflect the state of society? Its main value is that unique? That would be ideal, however, the world wants to have fun. And the artist grinds there between these two millstones with opposite motion. That is why we say that art is a business of torment and pain. On June 1, I will be performing with outstanding musicians who will be able to give me the opportunity to play parallel to the accompaniment. Their sense of form, ability to break form, and their desire for catharsis make me optimistic. This music has a serious future ahead of us here as well, I dare take poison from the stronger variety... One of the most powerful works of the contemporary ensemble repertoire will be presented for the first time in Hungary by UMZE. With our concert, we will continue our program that we started last year, in which we give young Hungarian composers the opportunity to perform their new works for the first time.
Helsinki tenor saxophonist Jussi Kannaste's debut album as a band leader has been a long time coming. A top musician in the local scene revered by his contemporaries and sought after as a band member, Kannaste released his new work Out Of Self and Into Others on We Jazz Records.
Founded in 2020, the Vienna-based Amadeus Trio has established itself as one of the finest chamber music ensembles internationally. Having celebrated highly successful concerts in the most prestigious concert halls of the world, they just recorded the first CD of the complete recording of trios by Ludwig van Beethoven, Franz Schubert and Fritz Kreisler.
