Az eredeti felvételt, George Gershwin operájának átiratát a jazztörténet méltán említi a szerzőpáros legjobban sikerült alkotásai között. A lemez a megjelenése óta rendkívüli ismertségre tett szert - az albumon hallható az azóta több mint huszonötezer átiratból imert Summertime, valamint az olyan neves művészeket, mint Ella Fitzgeraldot és Louis Armstrongot, vagy Barbra Streisandot is megindító Bess, You Is My Woman Now. A koncerten a MAO az eredeti hangszerelésben mutatja be a teljes anyagot.
