Tomasz Chyła Quintet is known for their lightness, incredible energy, and interpretive freshness. They are among the finest young bands in the Polish jazz scene, hailing from the Tricity region in northern Poland. The Tomasz Chyła Quintet has graced stages across Europe and Asia, with invitations to perform in China, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Poland, and Spain.

They have made a significant mark on the Polish improvised music scene, demonstrating that young Polish jazz is gaining strength. The band's live shows are renowned for their expressive and virtuosic solo performances, as well as their dynamic, collective, and open improvisations that coexist seamlessly with a penchant for simple forms and melodiousness. This cohesive musical vision is masterfully curated by the band's leader, violinist Tomasz Chyła, who has enlisted his talented friends and musicians. His seemingly unconventional choice of a non-jazz instrument harmonizes beautifully with the rest of the ensemble.

Featuring:

Tomasz Chyła - violin
Emil Miszk - trumpet
Krzysztof Hadrych - guitar
Konrad Żołnierek - double bass
Sławek Koryzno - drums

Our offer

At their concerts, the band performs their own compositions, which not only allow for improvisation, but also for ecstatic moods that are not at all alien to the jazz genre. They have recently performed with many of the best jazz musicians in Hungary, and have also appeared in the national clubs.

Jü, formed in 2012, has become, by now, one of the most exciting jazz acts on the Hungarian music scene. With each successive release, the world of the Budapest-based trio band seems to become exponentially larger and encompass an ever-expanding range of vibrant and startling influences.

The series A Genius Is Born is a tribute to the male choir works by the three greatest Hungarian masters of music, so it is no coincidence that the concerts are taking place on the composers' birthdays. A special feature of the concert programme is that StEFREM's personal selection of works by the classical composers is complemented by outstanding and interesting pieces by their "heirs", the Hungarian composers of the 20th and 21st centuries.
