Earlier, the quintet prepared charismatic arrangements of poems by Lajos Kassák, uniting free music with visceral performance; in the material presented in this concert, their creative work continues. As Veronika Harcsa put it: “For me, one of the most powerful experiences of being a musician is that I can discover various domains of creativity. In this project, it is especially true that my fellow musicians transcend the borders of different arts, drawing inspiration from theatre, fine arts, 20th-century avantgarde and today’s free ways of expression.

Featuring:

Veronika Harcsa - vocals
László Keszég - prose
Albert Márkos - cello
Róbert Benkő - double bass

Our offer

One of the most powerful works of the contemporary ensemble repertoire will be presented for the first time in Hungary by UMZE. With our concert, we will continue our program that we started last year, in which we give young Hungarian composers the opportunity to perform their new works for the first time.

The Modern Art Orchestra began operating twenty years ago and has since become one of Hungary's most innovative and diverse musical workshops. To mark this anniversary, the ensemble is celebrating with a three-part premiere series at the Budapest Music Center concert hall. All three evenings of the series, entitled MAO–XX, will feature new compositions and unique musical worlds, where contemporary jazz, classical tradition and poetry all play a role.

Featuring: Verena Zeiner - piano Ziv Ravitz - drums
