First founded as a trio of Georg Vogel, Raphael Preuschl and Michael Prowaznik (keyboards, bass and drumset), Flower is now happy to appear as a quartet with saxophonist Jure Pukl. The albums of the band – Flower (2011), Duft (2015) and Herbst (2022) – show a huge variety of approaches and moods, played by bustling virtuosos of their fields. The four bandleaders present a dazzling, sparkling kaleidoscope of musical associations. All pieces of the band's repertoire are designed for the special cast, written by Jure Pukl, Georg Vogel, Raphael Preuschl or Michael Prowaznik, and mark out various staked out fields within highly interaction-based improvisational navigation, carried out according to the thematic impulse effects, spanning an arc that reflects the moving interaction dynamics of the musical movement direction ranges of the four protagonists, and raises the intensity of concretization accumulations each time in unexpected ways to unforeseen heights.

They recorded this album 1979 in Japan at an open-air festival, and they are on fire all the way through, displaying huge dynamism and vast perspectives, all five of them breathing as one. They only played originals until the encore, showing compositional bravado, exciting harmonic changes, and intriguing dialogues.
