Lanou feat. Zoltán Lantos (HU)

Featuring:
Eszter Tóth - zither, guitar, Irish bouzouki, banjo, piano
Dávid Öllős - bass guitar
Gergő Papp - drums
Zoltán Lantos - violin, electronics

Active since December 2017, Lanou found a home on the borders of folk, pop and world music with a repertoire of their own songs in English and Hungarian as well as traditional folk song arrangements. The band's pure, profound musical world is also characterised by bold experimentation, so their concerts can include stoner rock-influenced guitar solos and triphop-influenced folk song arrangements next to each other.

After their debut album Of Clouds (2020), their second album, Erdeim, was released in February 2023. The latter mixes pop indie folk with Anglo-Saxon folk music traditions: singer Eszter Tóth plays Irish bouzouki and banjo alongside zither, guitar and piano. The album features songs in both English and Hungarian, but the emphasis is shifted towards Hungarian songs. With highly personal lyrics and an intimate tone, Erdeim is "a journey to the depths of the soul, where dream and reality are not separated, natural images have intimate meanings, elements come to life, and on the way we follow the lead of our own symbolic world to find what we are looking for." The repertoire premiered in February 2023 at the House of Music Hungary.

Our offer

Emmeluth’s Amoeba is about curiosity, playfulness and joy. It’s about creating a space where coming together and sharing a moment is central.

The five musicians who make up the quintet are perhaps most united by their sensitivity towards quality. Having explored the myriad shades of jazz and classical music, the need to develop their own language and their own sound becomes the most important common aim in this formation.

“This is our musical offering for a utopian, inclusive society, using a new, free, imaginary language unlimited by origin or cultural boundaries: Anthem for No Man’s Land. Our album title is inspired by our efforts to make art that can see beyond territorial thinking, beyond borders and beyond egoism.
