Ligeti 100
Moment's Notice Trio feat. Lukas Ligeti & Kornél Fekete-Kovács:
Immediate responses to György Ligeti (HU)

Featuring:
László Gőz – trombone, wind instruments
Miklós Lukács – cimbalom
György Kurtág Jr. – keyboards, electronics
Guest:
Kornél Fekete-Kovács – trumpet, electronics
Lukas Ligeti – percussion

The music of Moment's Notice Trio is framed by electronic effects, which are then filled by instruments that are both tonally and characteristically different, engaging in a sensitive and magical chamber music dialogue. Wherever they have appeared since 2015, the three musicians have always taken to the stage without discussing anything but the basic concept. Their sounds are born without prior planning, in the ephemeral reality of the moment, illuminating the interconnections between jazz, classical, contemporary and electronic music. This concert will feature short recordings of Ligeti’s compositions, varying in character and ranging from electronic works to traditional arrangements, to which Moment's Notice will respond in an improvisational style, with a whole arsenal of instruments and driven by the creative power of the moment. The evening also features special guest appearances by two charismatic musicians: composer-improviser Lukas Ligeti brings his experience in experimental and traditional music, while Kornél Fekete-Kovács adds his autonomous approach to the free expression of musical thought to the unique universe of his international artist-friends.

Our offer

The five musicians who make up the quintet are perhaps most united by their sensitivity towards quality. Having explored the myriad shades of jazz and classical music, the need to develop their own language and their own sound becomes the most important common aim in this formation.

The core line-up of Amsterdam-based Spinifex is a sextet. The band is named after a resilient Australian species of grass, and may at first sound like a blend of free jazz, punk rock and other typically Western contemporary music.
