The quartet’s music covers a wide spectrum ranging from completely free improvisation to strictly written compositions, based on Hungarian folk music, contemporary music and modern jazz, with the distinctive sound provided by the two strings / two percussions line-up, where each member takes part as a soloist.
The members of the trio are also members of Mezei’s larger formations – quintet, septet, ensemble – some of them familiar already to visitors of the Opus Jazz Club as well. They have given concerts in several European cities, like Belgrade, Novi Sad, Budapest, Krakow, Graz, Klagenfurt, Ljubljana, Sibiu, Győr, Kanjiža, just to name a few.
