His quintet is formed by some of the finest european young musicians. Manuel Caliumi is a multi award winning saxophonist (best soloist in the Chicco Bettinardi award, Marco Tamburini Competition, Stefano Cerri competition) and tours all over Europe with his Hack Out trio. Santiago Fernandez, a young pianist trained at Siena Jazz in Italy, is among the most active talents on the European scene thanks to his early experience in international festivals around the world. Bassist Ferdinando Romano was awarded by the Magazine Musica Jazz’s Critics Poll as Best Italian Rising Star 2020; he tours intensively all over Europe with his band Totem playing with musicians like Ralph Alessi, Enrico Rava, Robin Eubanks, Glenn Ferris, Elias Stemeseder, Benny Golson and many more. Young drummer Giovanni Paolo Liguori is one of the most powerful and interesting drummers of the new generation and collaborates as a sideman with many Italian and international musicians (Fabrizio Bosso, Ralph Alessi, Robin Eubanks, Jerome Sabbagh…). The energetic force and the spirituality of Indian ragas form the basis of their latest album, “Morning Raga”, which is a flow of energy, the urge to begin making music again with others and share it with the new generations. Naturally, each track is filtered through the artistic lens of the Apulian guitarist, who has used these elements of Eastern music as an inspirational springboard off of which he continues to expand his personal musical language.

The aim of the team, which has been assembled for this scientific-fantastic expedition, is nothing less than to gradually replace its material, starting from the world of jazz and retaining its achievements, with elements of Carpathian Basin folk music culture.

Saxophonist and composer Maria Faust is renowned and respected worldwide for her award-winning ensembles Sacrum Facere, Machina, and Jazz Catastrophe. Although her unique musical language as a composer and singular improvising style are easily identified, she is difficult to place in the canon of contemporary jazz and composition.
