Red Stones Quartet

Featuring:
László Vörös - piano
Richárd Szaniszló - vibraphone
Ádám Bögöthy - double bass
Tamás Hidász - drums

The Red Stones Quartet was founded by pianist and composer László Vörös in 2018. His compositions are characterised by traits of modern modal jazz, post-bop and fusion jazz, with a freshness of continuous exploration and innovation, while bold motifs and surprising harmonic twists are combined with a high degree of musicality and the resulting inclusiveness. The quartet's repertoire is a combination of melodicism, richness of emotion, playfulness and conscious construction. In 2020, the bandleader's composition Antré was selected as one of the 50 best jazz compositions in the world at the International Songwriting Competition, where László Vörös reached the semi-finals and represented Hungary.

The series A Genius Is Born is a tribute to the male choir works by the three greatest Hungarian masters of music, so it is no coincidence that the concerts are taking place on the composers' birthdays. A special feature of the concert programme is that StEFREM's personal selection of works by the classical composers is complemented by outstanding and interesting pieces by their "heirs", the Hungarian composers of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Közreműködik: Tobias Faulhammer - gitár, kompozíció Gregor Aufmesser - nagybőgő Jakob Kammerer - dob

A „ballad” played by jazz musicians and singers is supposed to be slow and is typically about romantic feelings. What the leader of MAO, Kornél Fekete-Kovács adds regarding their choice of ballads for this program is that so much could be grouped here, anything that is rather introvert and fits the mood of the season. The repertoire of the big band contains a lot of traditional, and quite many unusual ballads.
