From his oeuvre, we have chosen ensemble pieces that have already become part of the contemporary music repertoire, or have the potential to become such classics. As a "commentary" on the life of Jeney, we have chosen a chamber piece by his master, the Italian Goffredo Petrassi, and the premiere of a new work by Zsolt Serei and Ádám Kondor, offering the listener an artistic and historical perspective.
Program:
Zoltán Jeney: Self-quotations (1991)
Goffredo Petrassi: Tre per Sette (1964)
Serei Zsolt: Cantabile (In memoriam Jeney Zoltán) – premiere, commissioned by the UMZE Ensemble
*****
Ádám Kondor: Viola Concerto – premiere
Zoltán Jeney: silence everywhere (2001)
Featuring:
Péter Bársony – viola
UMZE Ensemble
Conductor: Gregory Vajda
