A piece may be simple in terms of playing technique, but musically demanding, or vice versa: the energy invested by the performer is often not in direct proportion to the significance of the listening experience. Nevertheless – if we may bring forward the lessons of the evening – the greatest composers wrote great music even in their smallest pieces.

Program:

Part I: An illustrated dialogue between Gábor Csalog and Gergely Fazekas (in Hungarian) about the pieces
intermission
Part II: Piano works by Schumann, Debussy, Bartók, and Ligeti

Featuring:

Gábor Csalog – piano
Gergely Fazekas – music historian

Our offer

András Dés is one of the few percussionists who have not only absorbed a whole arsenal of musical styles as a member of various bands, but have also founded their own ensembles.

The Kálmán Oláh Septet is a new, expanded version of the renowned jazz pianist's sextet, formed in 1995.

This concert is an even more significant event than an album premiere.: the celebration of Borbála Dobozy’s 45-year career. Alongside two beloved concertos by Johann Sebastian Bach, she will perform a rarely heard work by Georg Anton Benda and Joseph Haydn’s Concerto in D major, usually played on a piano.
