Although their musical journey takes place in where it’s culturally and geographically furthest from the western music scene, their music is distant from Korean ethnicity. If anything, complexity of modern society is captured in their music as of multi-layered complex rhythms underneath the verbally singable melodies, and unfiltered expressions of emotions and creativity. Their distinctiveness comes from extended improvisational concepts, and versatile sound elements across acoustic and electric sounds. Working as a band over years enabled them to feel natural towards their music and to pull out their rationality and emotionality in a timely manner, and to pursue a common interest; to be completely genuine and to stay at the highest creativity level during the intricacy. Together, they are constantly exploring the new territories of improvised music and jazz.

Yonglee and his band DOLTANG recorded “Surface of Time” and released in Dec. 2021. Currently they are working on another recording called “Invisible Worker”, which will be released early 2024.

The series A Genius Is Born is a tribute to the male choir works by the three greatest Hungarian masters of music, so it is no coincidence that the concerts are taking place on the composers' birthdays. A special feature of the concert programme is that StEFREM's personal selection of works by the classical composers is complemented by outstanding and interesting pieces by their "heirs", the Hungarian composers of the 20th and 21st centuries.

The Daveform Quintet, specialised on modern jazz, creates a unique fusion of American, Scandinavian and Balkan jazz, with room for large-scale improvisations. From jazz ballads to contemporary classical music and sloppy grooves, the guys show off a wide range of musical devices.

A „ballad” played by jazz musicians and singers is supposed to be slow and is typically about romantic feelings. What the leader of MAO, Kornél Fekete-Kovács adds regarding their choice of ballads for this program is that so much could be grouped here, anything that is rather introvert and fits the mood of the season. The repertoire of the big band contains a lot of traditional, and quite many unusual ballads.
